A Time of Celebration

Tom Mugridge, General Manager and Karen Fellenstein, retiring bookkeeper.

This past weekend was a big day of celebration at the Forest City Tree Protection Co.  On Friday March 30, 2012 we enjoyed a cake from Archie’s Hough Bakery in honor of Tom Mugridge’s birthday (March 29) AND in honor of Karen Fellenstein upon her retirement after more than 31 years.

It's always a treat when reason is found to order a "Hough Cake" from Archie's Hough Bakery on Lakeshore Blvd in Cleveland.

Karen Fellenstein started at FCTP on November 10, 1980.  FCTP President, Lauren Lanphear stated, “She was my first hire.  No doubt I got that one right!!!

Karen grew up in Euclid, graduating from Euclid High School where she followed the business course of studies. She now resides in Munson with her husband, Don of over 40 years.  Her two sons, David & Chris both worked summers at Forest City Tree Protection.

Karen served as our secretary for nearly 20 years, then in 2000 assumed the role bookkeeper.  Her last duties were training our new bookkeeper, Michelle Andree.

Karen Fellenstein, left, is all smiles on her last day of work as she completes her training of new bookkeeper, Michelle Andree.

Smiles all around! Tom Mugridge & Karen Fellenstein cut their cake.

CONGRATULATIONS to Karen on her retirement and Tom on his birthday (the 29th anniversary of his 29th birthday).  We will miss you, Karen.  Enjoy your time together with Don.
